Affiliate and Advertising policy

Hey there, Daren here. If you’re reading this page, it’s because you’re interested in learning about how we make money on the Learnfilm.photography blog. We’re all about full disclosure, so I’ll get into the nitty-gritty. We use a small number of un-intrusive ads and affiliate links to raise money to run this blog. Right now, we’re in the small leagues. So these methods are just being implemented to cover the costs of running this blog — that includes hosting, domain registration, and a few paid services that we use to make this website better, faster, and stronger.

Learnfilm.photography is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We also participate in other affiliate programs, which compensate us for referring traffic.

For affiliate links, the products that we’re linking to are all ones that we have a personal connection with. Either I’ve personally bought this item in the past, used it in a professional capacity at one of the labs I frequent, or it’s been gifted to me and is something that I’m actually completely stoked on. If it’s a gift, I will mention that it has been given to me in my blog post and any corresponding posts on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, or Twitter. And I’ve mentioned to the suppliers that there is no guarantee that any gift will result in a blog post. I believe in quality content, and I intend to deliver on the goods that will make our audiences the most successful in their film photography ventures.

These affiliate links give me a small commission on anything that’s purchased through them. They’re a custom link that is given to me from Amazon, KEH, eBay, or other sites that will show when a customer has come through my website and decided to make a purchase based on my writing. Usually, the amount I make amounts to somewhere between 2% (most common) and 10% (rare) of the total sale depending on the program. The best thing about these links is that they don’t add any cost to you. No matter what, if you click these links, you’re still going to get the best available price on that product, and you’ll be supporting this blog. This support means the world to me, and allows me to continue writing, researching, and learning full time, and hiring other writers to create and fill out this incredible community.

If you have any questions about our policy, or anything about film photography reach out to me here! I’m happy to answer any questions, no matter how small. If you like what you’re seeing, and want to help support me directly, I’m taking donations on Ko-Fi.com.

Thanks so much for reading!
